The painting is for people to feel the complexity of missing someone they know is still showing up in their lives even though they are passed. They are there in the tangle and chaos of our lives - somewhere...
You can feel them but you know they are just out of reach. Jennifer explained this piece to her husband Doug - she told him who this was about personally for her and he asked her where she was in the painting. The thing is... no one knows where their loved one is, we just know they are close by.
